Mentor Power is not about the normal type of mentoring that happens in big  companies but rather the combining of all the skills and experience of a group of people to the advantage of all.

It is all about understanding the individual issues faced by nearly all  small businesses in solving problems, growing their businesses, dealing  with risks, ill health, exit strategies, lack of finance, tight budgets, business growth, marketing, sales and much more. We recognise that the  strength of the concept is in the principle that none of us knows  everything, and therefore many minds working together are more likely to be successful.

Today many small businesses understand that they cannot compete with their bigger  competitors when it comes to marketing and advertising, but that does not mean you should do nothing! The real costs  of marketing and advertising are proportionally so high that most small  businesses simply cannot justify the expense.

As a result they put more effort into networking with other small  businesses and getting their names into the market place. However, many  of these business owners have been disappointed with the outcome of  their networking activity.  This is not really surprising as most small  businesses are out networking when they need new business and are not  in the market for buying as they have little cash to spare. When they  have plenty of business, sadly they are often too busy to spend time  networking for the future. When their work runs out, they have to get  out and about again, building relationships before they get more work.

We believe the time has come to take networking to a new level, that of  building REAL relationships with other local business people. That of  SHARING experience, knowledge and know-how. That of REFERRING potential  customers on the basis that we actually know and really do understand what the business we are referring does and just how good they are at what they do!

Finally and probably most importantly, is the need of all small business owners to have available one or more experienced people who are able to act as MENTORS to them and their business.

These things cannot be done with real success unless we all understand what each of us does and how we think and operate.

With millions of small businesses across the world all competing in their  own market place, gaining the ability to stand out above the others by  even a small amount will ensure that that business is visible.  This  gives the business a huge advantage, an advantage that we all should  understand and should strive to obtain.

Consider this, if there were 100 businesses offering a similar service in your  area and your company was recognised as being one of the top five  providers, would you expect more business than a business that was rated in the bottom 50? Of course you would! If your business was believed to be number one, then you would expect the lion’s share of the available  work.

The Mentor Power System is a simple tool which enables your business to  stand out above your competitors - giving you that edge that you need if your business is going to be successful.

The basic principle of the Mentor Power System is simply this.

A small group of non-competitive businesses located near each other, get  together for a 48 week period to work as a team to improve and grow the  businesses of each of the team’s members. This is  achieved, under guidance, because the combined knowledge, skills,  talents and experience of all the members in the team makes up for the  lack of those qualities that we all individually face.

The Mentor Power System is highly structured and based around this small  team of local business people who have formally agree to work together  in a MENTOR TEAM for a whole year to help each other develop their  businesses.  This involves all of the team members meeting together each week for an agreed period of time at one of the member’s place of work, to focus on and help each other move all the businesses forward.

This is achieved using the Mentor Power System.

It has been said that there is no ‘I’ in TEAM.  We disagree!  We believe  that an effective team is one that is full of ’I’s, each one with their own strengths, talents, skills, knowledge and experiences who have  chosen to work together as a TEAM for the benefit of all. If we all had  the same qualities and skills there would be no point helping each  other. We must recognise and accept that we do NOT know it all; in fact  the evidence shows that most of us know very little about running a  business! We may have a number of specific skills but to run a business  and be successful needs a lot of talent.

The Mentor Power System is designed to be franchised out to Group, Region  and Country Mentors who can earn themselves a substantial income from  their successful recruitment activities. Unlike many franchises we do  not wish to make money from selling the franchise so offer them at very  reasonable rates. Our interest is in setting the fee level just high  enough to attract serious people, yet not to penalise them in getting  started.

Finally we are seeking partners to fund and/or develop this concept. It is  anticipated that most of the work required for the development of the  web facility will take around six to nine month for an experience web  developer. Any individuals or business that get involved with this  project will become major shareholders in the concept. The Idea’s  Architect believe that owning 20% of something that is successful is  better than owning 80% of something that is not working. We are only  interested in the 20% - the 80% goes to those who want to build the idea and run it!
